Flower arranging workshops attracts residents from across area

Kim Oatway from Charmouth was among those to take part in the flower arranging workshop

COMBE St Nicholas village hall was recently awash with beautiful floral bird’s nests during a flower arranging workshop taught by award-winning Somerset tutor Jackie Nicholls, from Ashville Design.

Working on a rustic theme, the nests were made with twigs and other foraged materials then filled with the most beautiful seasonal flowers.

The workshop attracted residents from across the area, with Kim Oatway of Charmouth among those taking part.

She said: “This workshop made me think and I really enjoyed the way in which something simple like twigs and flowers could look so fabulous. 10 out of 10 from me!”

Tutor Jackie added: “This workshop was based on using natural materials to form a rustic design that can be used again and again.

“The nests took time to make but were well worth the effort. Filling them with flowers was the icing on the cake – the results were simply stunning. Every lady who came to this workshop should be extremely proud of themselves.”
