Bymead residents lift spirits with spring ball

bymead spring ballBYMEAD House Nursing Home in Charmouth recently held a spring ball for all its residents.

Both residents and staff dressed up to the nines for the occasion and danced away the afternoon. The lounge was decorated for the event with balloons, bunting and fairy lights to make it that extra bit special and lift spirits of residents who have been on complete lockdown for weeks.

The ball was followed by an elegant afternoon tea with delicious cakes and fancies made by Bymead’s in-house cook.

Bymead also joined the rest of the country in commemorating and celebrating the 75th anniversary of VE Day on Friday, May 8. Again, all the staff dressed up as, this time as land girls, soldiers and sailors for an afternoon tea party in the garden.

Residents enjoyed a mojito made by The Dark Bear cocktail company, based in Bridport, and sang along to wartime songs finishing with the National Anthem.

All the staff at Bymead House have worked very hard to maintain high standards of care and continue to remain COVID-19 free during this difficult time.
