THERE is just a few days left for Charmouth residents to have their say on the draft Neighbourhood Plan.
Public consultation on the draft plan will end on Friday, September 11 at 5pm.
For people who live, work or run businesses in Charmouth parish, this is your opportunity to comment on the plan, which includes 22 draft policies covering: Heritage and History, Assets and Amenities, Natural Environment, Local Economy, Housing, Getting Around and Energy Efficiency, and Coastal Change.
The neighbourhood planning regulations require the draft neighbourhood plan proposal to be the subject of a pre-submission consultation before it is submitted to Dorset Council for independent examination.
A copy of the draft Neighbourhood Plan is available to be viewed online at www.charmouthparishcouncil.gov.uk/charmouth-nhp with an online response form or, alternatively, a copy of the draft plan can be arranged to be delivered to those Charmouth residents without internet access.
Residents who would like to borrow a copy are requested to telephone 01297 561024 and arrangements will be made for a loan paper copy (with comments form) to be delivered and collected to your home address.
All paper copies of the plan will be quarantined beforehand so will be safe to handle.
All responses received by the above date will be considered by Charmouth Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group and may be utilised to amend the draft plan.
Following this, a consultation statement including a summary of all comments received and how these were considered will be made available for viewing, along with the amended Neighbourhood Plan.
The Steering Group have also been holding phone-in sessions for residents to ask questions on the plan. The last phone-in session will be held from from 7pm to 9pm on Thursday, September 10 by calling 01297 561024.
