Charity football match for RideLondon cyclists

footballA GROUP of Lyme Regis residents taking on next year’s RideLondon will host a charity football match this weekend.

The match will be held at Lyme Regis Football Club on Sunday, September 22, kicking off at 2pm. The bar will be open and there will also be a barbecue for a full afternoon of family fun.

The event will raise funds for bowel cancer and various other charities chosen by a group of 14 local residents who will be taking on the RideLondon challenge next August, which will see them cycling 100 miles around the capital and surrounding areas.

The football club will be open ahead of the charity match on Sunday for a screening of England’s first game in the Rugby World Cup, against Tonga, kicking off at 11.15am. Bacon rolls, teas and coffees will be served and the bar will be open.
