BRIDPORT’S From Page to Screen Festival has just secured an exclusive interview with Francis Lee – director of ‘Ammonite’, which was partially filmed in Lyme Regis.

The festival – which will be launched today (Thursday) and held online only this year – previously announced it would be screening ‘Ammonite’, based on the life of Lyme Regis fossil hunter Mary Anning, played by Kate Winslet.

The festival is also planning a question and answer session with actress Gemma Jones, who plays Mary’s mother, and organisers have now announced they will also be speaking to acclaimed director Francis Lee, who previously won the world cinema directing award at the Sundance Film Festival for his debut ‘God’s Own Country’.

The ‘Ammonite’ screening and interviews will close the festival on Saturday, April 24. There will also be screenings of five other films over the weekend and exclusive interviews with high profile guests.
