THE Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis is to host a ten-week Stage and Screen Acting class, beginning in January 2022.

The course will be hosted by Billy Geraghty, a former Woodroffe School pupil and an experienced actor who has worked on the stage and on television shows such as ‘Eastenders’ and ‘The Last Detective’.

Billy also played Buddy Holly in the West End show ‘Buddy’, a role he reprised in Lyme Regis for the first Guitars On The Beach event in 2013, when he led hundreds in playing the rock ’n’ roll star’s hit ‘Rave On’.

Participants of the new class will have the opportunity to perform short scenes – both on stage and for the camera, with a public sharing at the end of the course using the Marine Theatre’s cinema screen.

There will also be plenty of tips and tricks for self taping at home, audition help, and even how to operate the technical equipment.

Geraghty said: “It was brilliant to see such enthusiasm for this course on the taster day earlier this year. I’m really pleased we can now offer a full course to satisfy demand.”

The course starts on January 11. For full details or to book a place, visit the website
