THEY say that you don’t get much for free in life, but the Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis has announced that three seasoned musicians are performing in a complimentary concert.
The event features Robbie McIntosh, the guitarist from The Pretenders and Paul McCartney’s band, alongside popular local performers Steve Wilson and Jess Upton.
Robbie McIntosh has quietly accumulated a CV which beggars belief, supplying his peerless guitar work for artistes including Tom Jones, Norah Jones and John Mayer.
This is a special in a series of events called the Sunday Sessions – a relaxed afternoon event with the best in local musical talent, local drinks, and Sunday papers, hosted by a headline act.
Jess, Robbie and Steve will be performing some of their collective favourite songs in the intimate setting of the Marine. Expect harmonies, floor-lifting guitar breaks and a welcoming ambience of genuine community spirit.
Steve Wilson has become one of the most well-loved musicians in the South West as the bassist with The Little Green Men and The Guilty Pleasures, besides fronting his own band, Wilson.
Jess Upton has established a gilt-edged reputation with her renowned Soul Band, and a guilt-edged reputation with esteemed local band The Guilty Pleasures.
The event will be held on Sunday, October 28 at 5pm at the Marine Theatre. Entry is free and there are no tickets.
