Lynn Thornton sings swinging jazz at the Marine Theatre

SINGER Lynn Thornton has sung with many blues, gospel and soul groups.

She currently does much of her performing with her own band, Just Misbehavin’, featuring pianist Paul Barnham who will be accompanying her at the Marine Theatre’s Jazz in the Bar night on Sunday, June 30.

Lynn uses her incredible vocal range and technique to create exciting interpretations of songs and to make them swing. She is also a swing dance teacher and her love of the fantastic music that goes with it steps over into her very rhythmic singing style.

Expect to hear bluesy classics from the 1930s like Billie Holiday’s ‘Comes Love’  and some unique jazzy takes on pop songs like ‘Tainted Love’ and ‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go’.

“Singer Lynn Thornton is gifted with a voice that can beguile, shock and delight, so great is her range and so exciting the way she can make any song her very own” – Devonshire Magazine
