RISING music star Joanna Cooke, who hails from Lyme Regis, releases her third EP ‘Some Say’ on Friday, June 1.

‘Some Say’ follows Joanna’s well-received previous EPs, ‘Remember Me’ in 2015 and ‘Wound Up’ 2016 plus the earlier single ‘Last June’, all of which sold out on CD.

Lead track for radio airplay on her latest EP is its opening song ‘Black Keys’.

Joanna said: “I can’t wait to share this new EP. All the songs come from circumstances I’ve encountered, so there’s a lot of me and my emotions in there.

“I’m pretty sure they’re not unique to me though and I want to open up some common ground which people will relate to and connect with as we all strive to be the best version of ourselves.

“I’m blessed with soul, blues and jazz influences and also involved in dance music internationally too. There are touches of all those in these tracks and I’m proud to present this fresh set of songs in ‘Some Say’.”

Production on ‘Some Say’ comes again from Matthew Arundell, with Joanna’s long-standing musical partner Nathan Austin contributing to song-writing and performing on the EP.

Former Woodroffe School student Joanna Cooke has already seen some success in the music industry, performing 131 live shows in 2017, including 15 festivals. She has also supported British singer-songwriter sensation Rag’n’Bone Man on his hand-picked bill and The James Taylor Quartet.

Joanna has featured on local radio shows with strong support from both BBC Introducing in Devon and Cornwall, and was named BBC Introducing Artist of the Week on a show aired last November on all 40 BBC local radio stations nationally.

Her latest EP ‘Some Say’ is being released in digital download (iTunes, Amazon etc) CD and streaming formats.

More than 100 live gigs have already been booked for 2018, with upcoming local shows including at The Oddfellows in Exeter on June 8; Castlewood Wine Festival in Musbury on June 9; Axe Vale Show in Axminster on June 24.
