LATIN American music covers a wide range, from the lilting bossa novas of Brazil to the more muscular rhythms of Cuba, and jazz musicians have found it a continuing source of inspiration.
Fine saxophonist Pete Canter, accompanied by Philip Clouts at the piano, will be playing music from Brazilian icons Antonio Carlos Jobim and Joao Gilberto, and jazz greats such as trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie and pianist Chick Corea, as part of the Marine Theatre’s continuing Jazz in the Bar series this month.
Pete has recorded several albums which have been very well received, and played at major UK festivals including the Cheltenham Jazz Festival, Teignmouth Jazz Festival, Bude Jazz Festival and Exeter Vibraphonic.
