‘As You Like It’ broadcast from Shakespeare’s birthplace

SHAKESPEARE’S comic masterpiece ‘As You Like It’ is to be broadcast live from his hometown of Stratford Upon Avon to the Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis.

Rosalind is banished, wrestling with her heart and her head. With her cousin by her side, she journeys to a world of exile where barriers are broken down and all can discover their deeper selves.

Director Kimberley Sykes (‘Dido’, ‘Queen of Carthage’) directs a riotous, exhilarating version of Shakespeare’s romantic comedy.

‘As You Like It’ subverts the traditional rules of romance. Gender roles, nature and politics are confused in a play that reflects on how bewildering yet utterly pleasurable life can be.

The live screening will be held at the Marine Theatre on Wednesday, April 17 with the bar opening at 6pm for a 7pm start.

Tickets are £11 in advance or £13.50 on the door for adults, or £5 for under 18s, with 10% off for Theatre Friends. To book, call 01297 442138 or visit www.marinetheatre.com
