‘THE Darling Buds of May’ actor Tyler Butterworth brings his warm and uplifting show, ‘A Bit of a Carry On’, to the Marine in Lyme Regis this week.
The show is a journey that takes audiences deep into the golden age of British TV and film comedy.
‘A Bit of a Carry On’ tells the funny, moving and unashamedly nostalgic story of his much-loved parents, the nation’s first female TV impressionist Janet Brown, and the inimitable ‘Carry On’ star Peter Butterworth.
With classic film and television clips, rare photographs and a question and answer sessions with Tyler, ‘A Bit of a Carry On’ allows the audience to really get to know two of British comedy’s brightest stars, who lived to make us laugh.
The show has been described as ‘funny and moving’ by English actress Alison Steadman. Tessa Peake-Jones, star of ‘Only Fools and Horses’, described it as a “fantastic, fascinating story, really interesting and really enjoyable”.
The show will be held at the Marine Theatre on Thursday, June 30 starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from £12 at marinetheatre.com
