B Sharp’s annual busking festival to return next month

busking festivalHAVE you missed live music? Enjoy playing music and singing on the streets? Playing piano or drums on the seafront? Watching some fantastic live music from one of B Sharp’s young performers and bands?

It’s all happening in Lyme as part of local music charity B Sharp’s annual Busking Festival on Saturday, July 3.

For six hours between 11am to 5pm the town will be filled with the sound of music from musicians and street artists, including B Sharp’s young performers.

There will be musical workshops and activities for all ages, and B Sharp’s team of musicians and young leaders will be on hand to guide and encourage all.

No matter what your level of music ability, everyone is welcome to have a go and join in the festival by the sea; play on the piano, try out the drums, join the open mic session, take part in a workshop or music session or come and busk!

What’s on at the festival?

  • Busking all around Lyme and the seafront, 11am – 5pm
  • Welcome desk – Jubilee Pavilion on Marine Parade by the ‘Play Me’ Piano.
  • Performances by B Sharp Bands – Hub Jams, Boombox and Bridport Jams

Ruth Cohen, B Sharp’s director, commented: “We are delighted to be able to plan the Busking Festival on the Seafront in Lyme Regis this year again, as last year the event we had to hold the event online.

“The busking festival is a great event and everyone thoroughly enjoys it. We are fortunate that the festival can run as an outdoor, covid-safe event, although we hope that social contact restrictions will be lifted in time for the festival, as planned in the government’s roadmap.

“Our young musicians are really looking forward to performing again, and we can’t wait to bring everyone together for a great event.”
