HAVING read that the mayor, Brian Larcombe, has resigned, I would like to wish him and his family all the best for the future.
The position of mayor is a difficult one and needs the full support of others. Obviously lacking as we’ve often read and been made aware of.
Also, it’s easy for the public to become armchair experts, post comments and take pot-shots at someone who is doing their best.
Those people who think they know best should put their names forward and have a go, then they might realise it’s not as easy as they think.

My view is that depending on the level of trust, and respect that the late former Councillor Stan Williams earned and retained during his time in the Lyme Regis Town council,and the humility, action and attitude of the two candidates that hope to
follow in his footsteps is what will determine their success or failure.
Further to that, building up and retaining a measure of trust and respect among the local residents is what counts.
