Second park and ride should be reinstated

ONE of the answers to resolving the traffic and parking issues in Lyme Regis is to provide a second park and ride site and service in the summer months, on the eastern side of the town at Sidmouth Road.

This worked successfully when it was there on a temporary basis and the opposition to it by some, and refusal to grant an extension by East Devon District Council, was extremely short sighted.

Also, these park and ride facilities should be provided by the respective Dorset and Devon highway authorities.

It should not be left to the town council to co-ordinate and fund.
