HAVING recently been referred to Poole General Hospital following a fall in my Lyme Regis garden, I was very disappointed to discover how inaccessible Poole is by public transport from Lyme Regis.
It takes five and a half hours to get there, so without a group of very kind friends it would have cost me £250 each time for the return trip – always supposing there was a taxi available.
Fortunately I only had to do this once.
I was very pleased to have been referred to a specialist unit where I received excellent care, but surely it should be possible for residents of Dorset to get to the county centre of excellence with more ease and less outlay.
