I HAVE been at home for the lockdown period and during this time I have had very good, productive days and days which have been frustratingly boring and difficult.
One day, during a rather long session trawling the internet for inspiration, I came across LymeOnline – what a gem of a find!
I lived in Uplyme for 18 years and left in 1978 to go to college in London. I now only visit the area fleetingly a few times a year; elderly parents now living in Seaton so trips to Lyme are very infrequent.
However, I do meet up with school girlfriends once a year in July at the Pilot Boat to reminisce and catch up!
You and your team have brought back a lot of joy, nostalgia and happy memories of life in Lyme from my teenage years.
I have spent many hours during lockdown reading through older articles and looking at photos, and have been delighted to see names and faces that I still recognise.
It is a shame that there will be no Lifeboat Week or Regatta & Carnival this year. I remember winning the talent contest with a friend in 1974 I think. A lifetime ago!
So, thank you to you and your team for bringing a little sunshine into my Hertfordshire life during this difficult, unprecedented time. I hope your venture continues to flourish.
