THE Marine Theatre’s ‘Tuesday Night at the Movies’ series will close on August 27 with a screening of musical ‘Cabaret’.
Karol Kulik, who has organised the series of classic film screenings, commented: “The unforgettable performances of Liza Minnelli as Sally Bowles and Joel Grey as the Master of Ceremonies at the Kit Kat Klub are two main reasons for wanting to see again on the big screen the 1972 Hollywood musical ‘Cabaret’.
“The choreography and direction by Bob Fosse, the photography by Geoffrey Unsworth, and the unsettling setting in 1930s Berlin are also worth revisiting, as, of course, are the songs.
“Mention ‘Cabaret’ to those of a certain age and you’re likely to get a response of ‘Money, Money, Money, Money!’ The Marine Theatre is therefore delighted to be ending its ‘Tuesday Night at the Movies’ strand with a screening of this classic. Dancing in the aisles will be encouraged!”
The screening will be held on Tuesday, August 27 with the bar opening at 6.30pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets cost £6 in advance or £7.50 on the door, available by calling 01297 442138 or visit www.marinetheatre.com
