MAGGIE Reeday brings her impeccable vocal style to the songs of Stevie Wonder, with Philip Clouts at the piano, in the intimate surroundings of the Marine Theatre bar on Sunday, November 25.
Stevie Wonder is a massive figure in pop and soul music and his music has always had a strong jazz feeling. His debut album was even called ‘The Jazz Soul of Little Stevie’, and great jazz singers like Ella Fitzgerald have sung his music.
Maggie will be covering a wide range of his songs, including many classics like ‘Isn’t She Lovely’, ‘My Cherie Amour’ and ‘You Are the Sunshine of My Life’.
Wonder signed with the legendary soul label Motown at the age of 11, and he continued performing and recording for them into the 2010s. He has recorded more than 30 top ten hits, received 25 Grammy Awards, and has sold over 100 million records worldwide.
Maggie Reeday is one of the country’s finest vocalists, and has worked in both television and radio over the years, also with some of the greatest international jazz musicians. She has an engaging style with the audience, and a wonderful sense of fun.
