THE Marine Theatre is holding a daytime disco for children and adults to raise money for Lyme Regis Regatta & Carnival Week.
Children aged 0-10 years and their families can hit the dance floor for a pre-carnival party, with plenty of time left to watch the Grand Carnival Procession make its way through the streets of Lyme Regis on Saturday August 11.
With a real DJ spinning records from the 1970s to present day, this young people’s “club night” is very different to a normal children’s party, with face painting and craft activities.
Theatre Manager Sophia Moseley said: “I love the Lyme Regis carnival. There’s a lot going on in our town, but this is one of my favourite events. I am pleased to announce our support of it with this innovative event for the whole family. See you on the dance floor!”
It is a safe environment for the children to have a great time, whilst adults socialise and have a drink. Bridport’s DJ Shoei provides the music, and Marvellous Makers are on hand with arts and craft.
The disco will be held from 1.30pm to 3.30pm with entrance cost £3 for children and £2 for adults, with 10 per cent off for Theatre Friends. The carnival procession will start at 8pm. Full details of all Regatta & Carnival Week events are available in the official programme, available from several local outlets.
