A LIVELY up-and-coming band made up of five talented musicians from the local area is set to entertain audiences across the region in 2018.
The group of young singer-songwriters, known as LaunchPad, have grown out of the local music scene and have already performed at some major festivals in the area, including B Sharp’s Big Mix Festival in Lyme Regis and the Free Soul Festival in Axminster.
LaunchPad saturate their music with charisma, personality and style and offer a selection of original tunes and favourite covers. Known for their exciting music, they have been wowing audiences wherever they play.
The group’s eclectic mix of music offers a perfect programme for any event, from private functions, parties and school proms to festivals and gigs as stand-alone or support acts.
Band member and local musician Fraser Earle commented: “We’ve had some amazing responses from audiences this year. Our band’s got plenty more new music up its sleeve and we’re really looking forward to a great gigging year ahead.”
The band is supported by B Sharp, the Lyme Regis-based music charity which is well known for leading on a range of musical initiatives, with many young emerging bands and musicians starting out with the organisation.
Kelly Osborne, LaunchPad’s mentor, noted: “We’re really delighted to be supporting LaunchPad. At B Sharp our mission is developing the talent which goes on to fill larger spaces and promoting a culture of live music.
“This young house band is not just producing great music but inspiring many younger and developing musicians to play music and bring audiences together.”
