Healthy and wholesome food on offer at new café opening soon

A NEW café will soon be opening in Coombe Street, Lyme Regis, offering healthy and wholesome breakfasts and lunches.

The Waters Edge Cafe will open in premises which formerly housed hat shop Pop Goes the Weasel. The property has undergone a full refurbishment with everything finished to a high standard ready to welcome customers later this month.

Owner Jason has patiently waited for lockdown restrictions to be eased to open his new business. A chef by trade, Jason previously set up a chain of ‘coffee culture’ cafés in London, selling his eight branches to Marks & Spencer in 2006, and he later moved to Colyton.

His focus will be on quality, fresh produce with no fried food on offer. Rather than the usual bacon and sausages, the breakfast menu will include pastries, muesli, granola and muffins, while lunch will consist of rustic salads and sandwiches.

The Waters Edge Cafe will also be serving teas, coffees and blended drinks, including frappucinos and smoothies.

Tables will be available inside and out for customers to eat-in, but the café will also be offering a takeaway and delivery service.

The café is currently recruiting permanent staff – for details email watersedgelyme@gmail.com
