LYME Regis Art Society members had been looking forward to holding its annual exhibition at the Town Mill later this month, but due to coronavirus restrictions the event had to be cancelled.
Instead, members of the society have been keeping busy during lockdown creating new pieces of artwork which will now be displayed in a virtual exhibition.
The virtual exhibition will be available to view online from May 23 to June 20 by visiting www.lymeregisartssociety.org.uk/lras-virtual-art-exhibition-2020/
A spokesperson for the society said: “We are lucky enough to have enlisted the expertise of Devon artist Hannah Twine to judge the exhibition and as always all our members will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite.
“As with our regular exhibition, most of the work will be for sale. Visitors to the website can ‘Pledge to Buy’ any work of art. This will be a pledge to either buy the work at the end of lockdown, when things return to normal, or to enter into a direct discussion with the artist to arrange payment and delivery on a one-to-one basis as the lockdown continues.
“In this way we are aiming to keep creativity and motivation going during these difficult times, as well as promoting the sale of local art work.”
