FEEDING 600 mute swans is something unique to the staff of the Abbotsbury Swannery in Dorset.
Nowhere else in the world could you see such a sight. Dave Wheeler was the swan herd – that is again a unique title – who began the early morning feed.
Photographing swans against the morning light is made easier because of the mass of white feathers allowing the light to bounce off each swan.
It truly was a magical experience being in the presence of so many swans and the satisfaction of knowing that you are the only person anywhere photographing such a sight.
