Reserves finish season in fifth place

LYME Regis Reserves completed their first season in the Devon & Exeter League Division Four with a 1-0 victory away to Pinhoe 1st.

It was a credit to both teams who played some attractive football on what proved to be a tricky pitch.

Half chances fell to both sides throughout the game with the defining moment of the match falling to captain Alex Rowe whose scorching 25-yarder nestled in the top corner of the Pinhoe net.

This win capped a solid season for the Reserves, managed by Rodney Rowe and Luke Clifton, finishing in fifth place in Division Four.

Luke Clifton took on the role of joint manager after nursing a serious leg injury but now fully revered intends to continue his playing career with the Seasiders and will be stepping down from his management duties next season.

Club chairman Howard Larcombe commented: “Luke has done a brilliant job as joint manager, alongside Rodney Rowe, and we look forward to seeing his back in action in a Lyme shirt and hopefully welcoming him back to the management team when there time is right.”
