Horticultural society to host autumn show and harvest supper

UPLYME & Lyme Regis Horticultural Society is set to celebrate its autumn harvest show on Wednesday, October 23 at Uplyme Village Hall.

There are 16 classes of entry, covering flowers, floral art, fruit, vegetables, cookery, preserves and a fun category.

The autumn theme is reflected in floral art with classes such as ‘Shades of Autumn’ and ‘Berry Magic’, in vegetables with ‘October Harvest’, a vegetable cake in the cookery section and of course a carved pumpkin in the fun category.

The autumn show is a light-hearted affair with judging in most classes by popular vote and not by Royal Horticultural Society rules.

It will be followed by a bring and share harvest supper for everyone to enjoy.

Guests are welcome to enter and full details of the classes and judging can be found at www.ulrhs.wordpress.com.

Exhibits should be brought to the hall at 7pm, with the show starting at 7.30pm.
