UPLYME Brownies is to close after almost 70 years in the village.

Due to a decline in numbers and volunteers, Brownie leaders have taken the difficult decision to close the branch, which was first established in 1950.

They will be hosting a ‘Final Goodbye’ event on Saturday, August 10, where all current and former members of the Brownies are invited to mark the end of an era.

The event will be held in Uplyme Village Hall from 12noon to 4pm and refreshments will be available. Donations, if desired, can be made to the village hall.
