Regatta & Carnival Committee donate to sea school

THE Regatta & Carnival Committee have helped Lyme Regis Sea School Trust to purchase replacement sails with a donation of £500.

The much-appreciated donation has been used to purchase some replacement sails for some of the sea school’s Laser 2000 dinghies.

The volunteer-run sea school teaches young and mature students to sail, with around 200 pupils a year.

Josh Boulton, Fraser Earle and Ed Crabbe, all senior instructors at the sea school, were delighted to receive a cheque from Alan Vian and Dave Edwards from Lyme Regis Regatta & Carnival Committee.

Josh said: “The new sails that we been able to purchase ensure that we are able to keep the boats in a good and safe working condition, which is vitally important to us. We wish to extend our thanks to the Regatta and Carnival Committee for helping us.”

Lyme Regis regatta & Carnival Week will be held from Saturday, August 4 raising funds for local organisations.
