A SPLASH of colour has been added to Lyme Regis’ seafront gardens, thanks to a new lighting scheme launched by the town council.
The coloured lighting display has been months in the making, and the big switch-on was finally held on Friday evening, with the Mayor of Lyme Regis, Councillor Brian Larcombe MBE, doing the honours.
The effective scheme, made up of more than 60 lights, was designed by Lymelight, the team behind a similar display at Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens. It has illuminated the trees at the top of Langmoor and Lister Gardens in various colours, making more of a feature of the ‘woodland walk’ footpaths.
The lights, met with a resounding positive reaction from residents and visitors, will be a permanent feature in the gardens, switched on every night from dusk until 11pm, and the colours can be changes to suit specific times of year and occasions, such as Christmas.
