Michaela to serve as mayor for another year

COUNCILLOR Michaela Ellis has been elected to serve another year as Mayor of Lyme Regis.

Councillor Ellis was the only nominee for the role of First Citizen for the coming year at this week’s full council meeting.

She was nominated by Councillor Cheryl Reynolds, seconded by her deputy mayor, Councillor Steve Miller, and elected with no one voting in opposition.

Councillor Miller was elected to continue as deputy for another year, having also been nominated by Councillor Reynolds and seconded by Councillor Ellis.

Councillors Ellis and Miller were first installed in May 2017 and will officially start their second year at the traditional mayor making ceremony on May 16th.

Councillor Ellis also served as Mayor of Lyme Regis between 2009 and 2011.
