Harbour Inn staff take on the Ration Challenge

Harbour Inn staff Melissa Hutchings, Jenny Clarke, Izzy Rumsby and Imogen Payne have taken on the Ration Challenge this week

FOUR members of staff from the Harbour Inn in Lyme Regis have been living off the most basic rations this week to raise funds for refugees.

Melissa Hutchings, Jenny Clarke, Izzy Rumsby and Imogen Payne have taken on the Ration Challenge, a national campaign coinciding with Refugee Week to raise funds for Syrian refugees living in camps in Jordan.

Despite working on their feet all week at the busy pub and restaurant, the girls have been living off basic rations, similar to those eaten by a refugee and well below their suggested daily calorie intake.

Their rations for the week have included a bag of flour and small portions of rice, lentils, chickpeas, tinned sardines, kidney beans and vegetable oil, with only water to drink.

The Harbour Inn team have already surpassed their fundraising target of £500 but can still be sponsored online by following the link https://bit.ly/2x4zGMi
