Car park hut destroyed by fire

A WOODEN hut in Monmouth Beach car park, Lyme Regis, was destroyed by a fire on Friday night (June 8).

The hut was used by parking enforcements officers in the town council-owned car park.

It is believed the fire was started by a disposable barbecue in a nearby bin. A ticket machine next to the hut was also damaged and is currently out of order.

The town council’s outside workforce cleared the debris early on Saturday morning.
