A BUS smashed its window after crashing into scaffolding in Lyme Regs yesterday (Tuesday).

The double-decker 9A bus on route to Seaton hit the newly-erected scaffolding outside the Rock Point Inn at the bottom of Broad Street, which is currently undergoing a complete refurbishment.

One of the windows on the upper-deck of the bus was smashed but no one was injured.

The incident caused some traffic delays around the Broad Street area, with workmen from the Rock Point helping with traffic control. They eventually let down the tyres on one side of the bus to release it from the scaffolding.
