LYME Regis brothers Joshua and Jacob Denning have come up trumps again, raising £400 in sponsorship for taking part in the Lyme Lunge.

The boys – both regular supporters of local events and fundraisers – took part in the New Year’s Day dip in the sea to celebrate Joshua’s 15th birthday and recently handed over their sponsorship to organisers from the Rotary Club of Lyme Regis.

The Rotary Club raised £2,834.89 for Dorset County Hospital’s Cancer Appeal through collections on the day of the event – thought to be the busiest ever New Year’s Day in Lyme – with sponsorship to add to the total.

Organisers said they were extremely grateful for the donation from Joshua and Jacob, and would appreciate any further outstanding sponsorship or donations.

Rotarians have also just donated £1,500 to Julia’s House Children’s Hospice following successful street collections in Lyme Regis and Charmouth over the Christmas period, as well as at their Carols Around the Tree event in December.
