Body found in search for missing man

Kevin Norminton, aged 43, of Crewkerne

A BODY has been found in the West Bay area in the search for a missing Crewkerne man.

Emergency services, including coastguards and lifeboat crew members from Lyme Regis,  had been looking for Kevin Norminton, aged 43, since Tuesday. He had last been seen leaving his home that morning and his car was later found at a West Bay car park.

The discovery of a body was made today (Thursday) at about 6pm by a specialist search team below cliffs, near Thorncombe Beacon.

Chief Inspector Rob Chalkley, of Dorset Police, said: “Although the body has yet to be formally identified, we believe it to be that of Kevin.

“His family have been updated of the discovery and are being supported by officers at this extremely difficult time.

“We do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.”
