Exhibition of local art for church appeal

SEVEN local artists exhibited their work in St Andrew’s Parish Church in Charmouth over the Bank Holiday weekend to raise for the Changing Spaces project.

The artists (pictured above) whose work went on show were Geoff Townson, Ernie Godden, Paddy Sullivan, Russell Coulson, Philip Winstone and Wendy Lowis Bates.

Their work was much admired by dozens of people who attended the exhibition to boost funds, with refreshments also being on sale, for the project to convert the church into a meeting place for wider community use.

The church has already been granted £370,000 from the Diocese and are working hard on securing a significant Lottery grant to complete the work.
