A BANK Holiday edition of Lyme Regis Comedy Club, run by Bridport funny man Tom Glover, will see four comics on the bill including Ivo Graham who regularly appears to television.
With regular appearances on ‘Mock the Week’ and ‘Live at the Apollo’, the event offers a great chance to see Ivo headline a small venue.
Apologetic Eton and Oxford alumnus Ivo started stand-up in 2009 at the age of 18. Eight months later he became the youngest ever winner of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny award for new acts at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Since graduating three years later he has become a regular fixture in the clubs and theatres of the UK circuit, with appearances on TV and radio shows including ‘Comedy Central At The Comedy Store’, ‘As Yet Untitled’, ‘Live From the BBC’ and ‘Fighting Talk’.
He has also written for various other TV comedy shows, as well as his own sitcom projects in development the BBC.
His three solo stand-up shows have enjoyed sell-out runs at Edinburgh and London’s Soho Theatre. As the Evening Standard put it: “If you like your comedy with long words and beautiful linguistic flourishes, buy a ticket immediately”.
Ivo is joined by James Alderson, George Rigden, and host Tom Glover.
James Alderson is a familiar face at comedy clubs around the world including in New York, Egypt, and Switzerland. He has had an exciting year, being the support act for Jo Brand and Dane Babtiste, filming a Christmas show for Sky and hosting an episode of ‘Knock Knock’ for the BBC.
Lyme Regis Comedy Club will be held on Bank Holiday Monday, May 28 at the Marine Theatre, with the bar opening at 7pm and the show at 8pm.
Tickets cost £8 in advance or £10 on the door – call 01297 442138 or visit www.marinetheatre.com to book.
