Ricky Gervais’ warm-up act headlines Lyme Regis Comedy Club

Sean McLoughlin will headline Lyme Regis Comedy Club this month

RICKY Gervais’ support act Sean McLoughlin will headline the June edition of Lyme Regis Comedy Club at the Marine Theatre.

Sean has previously appeared on ‘Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central’, Comedy Central’s ‘Live at The Comedy Store’ and ‘Brexit Stage Left’. He will be joined by Phil Cooper, Paul Ricketts and Tom Glover, from Bridport, at the Marine’s comedy night on Saturday, June 23.

Sean has performed at Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, Cat Laughs Festival in Kilkenny, The Vodafone Comedy Festival in Dublin, The Rotterdam International Comedy Festival and several shows in Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Finland, Switzerland and Belgium. He has supported top comedians Ricky Gervais, Katherine Ryan and Doc Brown on tour and was a hit at the Edinburgh Festival.

“A terrifically intense and eloquent hour of comedy” – The Independent.

Also on the bill is the Welsh alternative comedian Phil Cooper, who has previously warmed up for Matt Price and Matt Rees, and won awards – he was also a semi-finalist for ‘So You Think You’re Funny’, semi-finalist for ‘Laughing Horse’ and winner of the Swansea Stand up Award.

“Impossible not to be drawn into his expertly delivered dialogues as he riffs off audience interactions – top class comedian” – Ministry Comedy.

Paul Ricketts is opening. He is an award-winning comic who, since 2006, has been entertaining audiences across the UK and beyond. Since starting as an MC in his own London Comedy Club, Paul has developed into a much sought after performer on the comedy circuit. Sometimes silly, serious or surreal, sometimes auto-biographicial, political or near the knuckle – but always funny.

Tickets starts from £7 and are available by calling 01297 442138 or visit www.marinetheatre.com where a booking fee may apply.

The bar opens at 7pm and acts take to the stage at 8pm.
