AN evening of live music at the Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis is set to raise funds for new equipment for the venue.
Jess Upton & The Guilty Pleasures will perform on Saturday, February 24th to raise money for music equipment at the Marine, as the venue currently has to hire some of the sound equipment required to stage concerts.
Theatre director Gabby Rabbitts said: “It doesn’t make sense for the venue to have to hire in music equipment at every gig. Across two years, we spend more on hire than it would cost to buy the everything we need.
“The challenge is coming up with the initial capital. We hope everyone will join us and contribute by having a fun night out.”
Singer Jess Upton leads this popular Dorset band, with a repertoire of soul, disco, and pop classics. The band has played at a host of festivals such Camp Bestival, and the first ever River Cottage music festival in 2016.
Tickets cost £10 in advance or £12 on the door, available to book by calling 01297 442138 or visit the Marine Theatre’s website www.marinetheatre.com
Doors will open at 8pm and this event is standing only.
