IT my be a little early to start thinking about Christmas, but that’s exactly what the Marine Players are doing as they plan their next production.
The theatre group will be staging the Charles Dickens classic ‘A Christmas Carol’ at the Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis this winter, following on from their success with comedy ‘The Vicar of Dibley’ earlier this year.
David Ruffle, of the Marine Players, commented: “This perennial ghost story will feature a large cast and we invite actors old and new, or just those who are merely budding actors to come and join us for play readings and auditions.
“If it’s something you haven’t thought of trying before, now is your chance! All you need is enthusiasm and the ability to have fun working alongside a friendly bunch of folk. There will be some singing and dancing, but nothing too daunting!”
Readings of the script will be held on Wednesday, July 4 and Thursday, July 19, both at 7.30pm at the Marine Theatre, to be followed by auditions on Monday, July 23 and Wednesday 25, also at 7.30pm at the Marine Theatre.
Performances will then take place on the evenings of Wednesday, December 5 to Saturday 8. There will also be a matinee on the Saturday.
