Laugh away the January blues at Lyme Regis Comedy Club

FOUR comedians are on the bill at Lyme Regis Comedy Club this month.

Jonny Pelham headlines and is probably best known as the winner of the coveted ‘So You Think You’re Funny?’ award.

He began his comedy career at university and while he was there he achieved runner-up in both the coveted ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ competition and The Chortle Student Comedy Awards.

Since graduating university Jonny was a finalist and judges choice in the BBC Radio New Comedy Awards, as well as being nominated for Chortle Best Newcomer in 2014.

2016 saw Jonny make the exciting step over to the small screen on Russell Howard’s ‘Stand Up Central’ for Comedy Central followed by a slot on ‘Live From The BBC’ this year.

A regular at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Jonny is soon to star on the upcoming series of ‘Live at the Apollo’.

Resident compere Tom Glover will be hosting the show. Originally from Bridport, Tom has been hosting and performing at comedy nights in the South West since 2011.

As well as being the resident compere at Lyme Regis Comedy Club, Tom is also a regular host at the Weymouth Pavilion, Blandford Corn Exchange, Teignmouth Pavilions, and the Jurassic Fields Festival.

His solo show ‘A Glover Not A Fighter’ had a month long run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Lyme Regis Comedy Club will be held on Friday, January 24 at the Marine Theatre, with the bar opening at 7pm for an 8pm start. Tickets cost £10 in advance or £12 on the door. To book, call 01297 442138 or visit www.marinetheatre.com
