JAMES Redmond made his name as an actor, known for roles in ‘Hollyoaks’, ‘Casualty’, ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ and even ‘Coronation Street’.
He first rose to fame as a model for Calvin Klein, Paul Smith, and Harvey Nicholls after being talent spotted while eating a yorkie at a bus stop.
But now the multi-talented actor has turned comedian and will headline a night of four comedians at Lyme Regis Comedy Club, a monthly event at the Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis, organised by Bridport-based comedian Tom Glover.
James is a dry and subtle stand up who delivers unexpected twists and turns during his set. He performs six nights a week all over the UK as compere, or with a set of up to 30 minutes and has done more than 350 gigs in two years, including at The Comedy Store, Jongleurs, Amused Moose and comedy festivals in Bristol, Exeter, Guernsey, Hull and Liverpool.
He also had a daily, hour-long show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
“Fresh-off-the-telly James Redmond has the makings of a really good comic. His tales of texting, girlfriends and Barry from Bristol are quality stuff.” – Fringe Magazine.
Lyme Regis Comedy Club will be held at the Marine Theatre on Friday, April 27 with the bar opening at 7pm and acts taking to the stage at 8pm.
Tickets cost £8 in advance or £10 on the door, available by calling 01297 442138 or visit www.marinetheatre.com
