Printmaking at the Town Mill

AS anyone who’s ever tried it knows, printmaking is a highly skillful artform that offers its practitioners numerous ways of working, from the exceedingly detailed and time consuming to the immediate and serendipitous.

And whichever process is used, from monotypes to etchings, the resulting image will be very distinct from what drawing or painting alone can achieve.

At the Town Mill’s Malthouse and Courtyard Galleries in Lyme Regis, visitors will be able to marvel at the whole gamut of printmaking techniques, as more than 50 both emerging and well-established printmakers from the South West – many from Exeter’s Double Elephant Print Workshop take part in the fourth Printmakers Open.

This special showcase will be open daily from between 10.30am and 4.30pm from February 7 to 27. Admission is free and further details can be found on the website www.townmillarts.co.uk.

Printmaking workshops and courses are available at the Double Elephant in Exeter with full details available at www.doubleelephant.org.uk
