Art Award success for Woodroffe pupils

IT has been another successful year for Year 8 students undertaking the Silver Arts Award course.

Thirty-five students achieved a silver award, worth half a GCSE.

Allison Bowskill, Arts Award co-ordinator, commented: “They worked extremely hard throughout the year on the various elements of the award, which included setting themselves a creative challenge to learn new skills; visiting and reviewing arts events; getting involved in arts activities and finally undertaking a leadership project which involved planning arts activities to teach to others.

“The course ended with a visit by the Arts Award moderator, who was very impressed with the standard and diversity of the students’ work. Well done to you all!”
